Revised UKPMS Inspector Accreditation Procedure

Bookings are currently being taken for the Visual Survey Accreditation Scheme.

Inspector accreditation is a three stage process involving;

1. Defect Definition exercise.

2. Defect Recognition photograph exercise.

3. On site Audit.

In order to address this, the revised accreditation process includes Visual Surveys of a number of sites close to the test centres. Survey data is collected using the hardware/software that inspectors use in their work.

To gain accreditation inspectors will be required to successfully complete all aspects of the process.

Under the previous accreditation process accreditation was obtained following successful completion of the City and Guilds accredited training and testing scheme. The City and Guilds scheme and associated certificates were deemed to end when the new revised scheme was introduced in April 2007. Inspectors that have not gone through the new scheme are not accredited and therefore cannot claim to be.

An outline of the accreditation procedure is given in UKPMS Document 113: 'Outline of the accreditation procedure'.

To make a booking, you should complete the test booking form and check list and send it to the PCIS support contractor at
